Growing up in the mountains and lakes of Queenstown New Zealand I love nature. But always took away one thing negative from bush trips, and that was tons of sandfly bites. As I was brought up to remeber that you can always make good out of a bad situation. So I decided to study the bug and simplify the terrifying little creature in a form that feels beautiful and harmless. This is why I make this sand “fly” with out wings. Because they arn’t very fast or furious without wings.
