No-Mana
Collection 2025
The 2025 No-Mana Collection draws inspiration from a powerful mantra: self-preservation is essential, and we should only give what we truly have to offer (Dana). Amid life’s shifting tides, it calls us to a deeper self-awareness, reminding us that real strength isn’t defined by wealth or refinement but by skill, Mana, and wisdom—which I see as the most attractive features in people.
This carefully designed collection weaves together Māori legends and Indo-Chinese symbols, honoring the sacred practices of preserving self and “beauty.” At its heart, the delicate sandfly body is one of the millions of tiny protector bodies that the Māori legend speaks of, each one playing a vital role in guarding New Zealand’s stunning natural beauty. These small beings are seen as guardians, weaving together a story of care and connection that honors the land and its wonders.
Carved and crafted from cleansing, hypoallergenic silver—an emblem of purity and resilience.
For the photo shoot, I wanted to complement this with the pristine Indian three-strand braid, a timeless symbol of balance between body, mind, and spirit. The long, bare nails—a nod to traditional Chinese nail care symbolizing elegance of status and abundance.
In a striking contrast, the use of synthetic hair paired with a Caucasian model reflects the fusion of cultures and the complex journey of self-identity today. Especially amidst the ongoing cultural appropriations swirling online, this unique Indo-Chinese-Western blend resonates widely—it connects with many, yet belongs uniquely to none. This collection embraces the beauty in that shared, fluid space.
